Branding
Visit Severn Valley
Discover somewhere new
The brief
Wyre Forest District Council wanted branding and a website to promote the Severn Valley as a visitor destination, under the brand name “Visit Severn Valley” (VSV). The objective of the website and subsequent marketing campaigns was to attract local, national and international visitors to the area by promoting the top visitor attractions and showcasing them in the context of the surrounding area and the natural countryside.
The challenge
The project required us to work with a multitude of partners and stakeholders including the National Trust, Natural England, a private safari park and entire towns and deliver a brand that these partners would use alongside their own branding.
The VSV brand had to work for the local community and engender pride in the area, and on a broader national and international scale where it must appeal to the tourist audience and encourage them to visit the area.
The solution
The branding positioned VSV as an established player in the tourism market with the gravitas to sit alongside established brands such as the National Trust, while also appropriate in local settings.
The letters of VSV gave a subtle nod to the the winding River Severn the is central to the area and the multitude of bridges that span it. The the use of different colours and brand claims to represent different places of interest (historical, natural and visitor attractions) ensured the diversity of the Severn Valley was showcased.
A clean, clear and dynamic website brought the area to life, using bespoke video and photography.
The results
A very happy client and partners, all delighted to be associated with the VSV brand and to benefit from the exposure it gives them individually and as a combined force.
