Branding
The Piano
Building
Office space and F&B under one iconic roof
The challenge
The Piano Building brief was to convey ‘modernity, accessibility and a warm welcome’ through the branding. There was also a desire to create a connection to The Weaving Sheds and The Old Court, two other buildings in the portfolio.
Our aim was to meet the brief with branding that is unique and inspiring, appeals to the diverse range of customers and tenants, has relevance to the space and its history and is meaningful now and in the future.
The solution
The building got its name from the top-down view, which is the shape of a grand piano. The logo uses this shape, creating a strong and immediate connection to the source of the building’s name.
Black and white are the obvious primary colours, with orange used as the secondary colour to create a link with the Weaving Sheds and Old Court.
The results
The minimalist approach of the logo and the typeface is relevant to a younger, style-conscious demographic.
By avoiding any explicit or subtle associations with F&B, retail, industrial or commercial, the branding emphasises the versatility of the space and will resonate with the variety of tenants and customers that will use The Piano Building.
